The People

The goal of the next-step activities will be to involve the greatest number of residents in determining recommendations for the uses of the Trust and Settlement funds. In its advisory role, the Task Force should itself be representative of this community.

Task Force Composition:

General categories are defined below. This is a preliminary list of categories for discussion purposes. Given the number of Task Force slots, some individuals may represent various categories. Some categories may require multiple representatives.

  • Co-Chairs (Highly-regarded, wise community leaders with deep knowledge of the area, along with the challenges and opportunities it faces.)
  • Economic Development (Large businesses, small businesses, entrepreneurs, job creation, workforce development.)
  • Finance
  • Neighborhoods
  • Education (Higher education, K-12)
  • Downtown
  • Quality of Life/Quality of Place (Arts & culture, parks & recreations, sports, etc.)
  • Tourism & Hospitality
  • Inclusion (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, age diversity, gender diversity, ability sensitivities, other distinct constituencies, etc.)
  • Downtown
  • Region
  • City Staff


The City of Fort Wayne will provide staffing assistance to the Task Force.
